Learn why team Walk4Joshua walks at Epilepsy Walk LA on April 28.

"We walk for our sweet grandson, Joshua James Godfrey, who was diagnosed with epilepsy at 1 Β½ years old and passed away from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) at age 6.

By walking, we hope to bring awareness to epilepsy and SUDEP to keep his memory alive, find a cure and help save lives."

Learn why team Cat Walk joins us at Epilepsy Walk LA. πŸ’œ

"The Cat Walk team strides in honor of our beloved Cat Tana-Acosta, fondly known as "Katana" for her keen ability to cut through life's illusions and guide us towards what truly matters. Cat confronts a severe form of epilepsy, more profound than Dravet Syndrome. Despite being four years old and not yet taking her first steps, she instills in us the courage to stand up for others. Though she communicates without words, she emphasizes the significance of listening. Above all, she embodies unconditional love. Cat, both our daughter and our mentor, represents the millions affected by epilepsy. We walk to celebrate her and all those impacted by this condition, extending an invitation for you to join us."

Learn why Team Super Xavier joins us at Epilepsy Walk LA again. πŸ’œ

"We are walking again this year as a community to support Team Super Xavier and the Epilepsy Foundation of Los Angeles. This is our 5th year participating in this event! The Epilepsy Walk LA event has brought our family community together to show support. We feel the love and support from family, friends and co-workers who generously donate to our team, keep us in prayers, and join our squad each year. Our son Xavier was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2016 at the age of 1. He underwent cranial surgery at CHLA in 2022. We are happy to say that he has been seizure-free since then. We are very grateful for the extended community that we have through the Epilepsy Foundation of Los Angeles, which has allowed us to connect with other parents, normalize emotions, share experiences, and not feel alone in this journey."
